Mikhail Volkov: home

I am a philosopher and logician. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method at the London School of Economics under the supervision of Dr Remco Heesen.

My research is in rational choice theory and social virtue epistemology. In particular, I try to identify and ameliorate incentive structures where agents' rational strategies degrade their intellectual character. A salient example of such a domain of individual decision-making is producer behaviour on social media which is the subject of my current project. My other research interests and competencies include game theory, logic, network modelling of social behaviour and political philosophy. To read more about my research, click here.

I received an MA in Logic and Philosophy of Science from the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy, LMU Munich where I wrote my thesis on evolutionary game-theoretic simulations of moral emergence. Before that, I completed my BSc in Logic and Philosophy at the London School of Economics with a dissertation on Löb's theorem and trust in self-modifying AI. To download my CV, click here.
